Cambodia Participates in Tri-Nation CLV Development Meeting in Laos

Phnom Penh: Cambodia has taken part in the Senior Officials' Meeting focusing on the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area, which was held in Attapeu province, Laos, on February 29. The Cambodian team was spearheaded by Pen Sovicheat, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce.

The representatives of the three nations presided over the meeting collaboratively, where they reviewed the cooperation progress within the framework of the CLV Development Triangle Area. Discussions were centered on the achievements of the four sub-committees responsible for economic affairs, security and foreign relations, societal and environmental concerns, and inter-provincial coordination.

Furthermore, the meeting's agenda included preparations for the upcoming 13th Meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee on the CLV Development Triangle Area. This reflects the ongoing collaborative efforts to foster peace and socio-economic development across the border provinces of the three countries.

The CLV Development Triangle Area initiative, established in 1999, encompasses a vast region—four provinces from Cambodia, four from Laos, and five from Vietnam. The area spans 144,600 square kilometers and is home to a combined population of approximately 6.7 million people.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam to advance regional development and enhance cross-border cooperation.
